We are Delighted to announce that Luke Eaton, has been named as our first team manager, who will be joined by Simon Davidson as his assistant and Nick Smith as 1st team coach.
Luke and Simon are no strangers to the wanderers as they have been running our under 18’s team very successfully for a couple of seasons winning the league and making 2 cup finals over the 2022/23 season.
On his appointment Luke added
“I would just like to thank Graham, Gina and the rest of the committee for appointing us as the new management team of Burton Park Wanderers. Myself and Simon have had a really successful couple of seasons with the under 18s with winning the league this year and reaching not 1 but 2 county finals.
We would like to bring back that local club feeling that Burton Park has been well known for over the years and we would like for there to be a real connection between us, the reserves and the youth teams so that there is a clear progression path to the first team available for everyone involved with the club. I think this vision ties in nicely for what Graham and Gina are looking to achieve with the club. The attractive style of football we have played with the 18s the last couple of years will be brought into the first team so I’m hoping we can get some more fans / locals into the ground on match days to enjoy that. Myself and Simon will also be joined by Nick Smith as first team coach. We will be integrating some of the current 18s players in with some players from last season’s team and also many new faces set to sign on for the club. This is a really exciting time for the club and we all can’t wait to get started with pre season so we can get ready for a busy, challenging and dare I say successful season. We look forward to seeing everyone on match days.”
Gina Cleverly commented ”We are looking forward to working with Luke and Simon as we work to build a strong future for the club. Their experience of developing young footballers is especially exciting for us as we hope to develop a stronger connection between our youth section and senior teams in the club.”
